Job Responsibilities


KEY EXPECTATIONS
  • Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials
  • Appraise supplier ability through on-site visits and measurements.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. – using a supplier scorecard
  • Monitor forecasts to identify changes or to determine effect on supply chain activities.
  • Create SOP for each sub-function – Purchasing, PMC/IMC, Warehouse, Imports, Exports and Transportation and ensure that it is current and updated
  • Ensure direct cost saving from efficient operations of
  • Transportation
  • Building HRINC KH dependant vehicles
  • Decide the right mode of Transportation based on delivery
  • schedule variations and customer requirement
  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Ensure that imports are managed efficiently in terms of logistics based on work flow received by managing Lead time from port to Factory
  • Identify and choose alternate entry points for supplier materials
  • Ensure Storage conditions required are strictly adhered to and
  • materials stored in the right environment
  • Provide materials in agreed timeline
  • Serving and meeting Production Planning as per their timelines
  • Ensure inspection of incoming material in terms of quality expectation as per SOP from Quality and Customer
  • Call out challenges in inventory and material availability
  • Prepare and communicate to internal teams and departments
  • the Supply Chain Process flow to help improve timelines,
  • delivery and quality
  • Ensure Material availability in time as per customer needs by Forecasting inventory needs based on trends
  • Budget for material forecasting for the year and ensure a cost saving on the budget by introducing specific initiatives - E.g. Reduced Material returns and optimum Material Usage to ensure cost savings target is achieved
  • Contribute to functional needs for a Technology platform and use the IT system to create and disseminate Monthly dashboards,
  • Introduce, train people and ensure an ABC analysis for inventory management and control is followed
  • Introduce and evaluate a Just-In-Time inventory management approach to reduce inventory storage and costs
  • Monitor and Manage storage space in warehouse within the factory and outside
  • Ensure management of People Performance, Career Growth, consequence management etc.,

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum education Engineer (with MBA preferred)
  • At least 15-20 years experience in this fields
  • On Time Delivery – Target vs Actual
  • Inventory Control – Target Vs Actual in terms of cash flow and ABC - How to reduce time of storage in the warehouse?
  • Ensure the right suppliers are sourced – X no of suppliers – # of instances of Supplier Availability timeliness of material availability and suppliers’ performance scorecard
  • Price Negotiation – Budgeted Cost Savings Vs Actual Cost Saving
  • Simplify Inventory process - # of non-value-added steps eliminated
  • Reduce cost in Inventory control – Study inventory process - # of instances of process steps reduced / new inventory management techniques introduced / time gained
  • Cost of Transportation reduction – Target Vs Actual
