Description: Job Responsibilities:
  • Define high level technical requirements, qualify feasibility, technology options and recommend an approach
  • Produces technical designs, server configuration templates and the automation required to build and manage cloud services.
  • Lead the Infrastructure services function to align with the IT Strategy and business objectives
  • Follow all relevant governance risk and security considerations.
  • Work collaboratively with Stakeholders, technology functions and Service Providers to meet SLA requirements and act as ultimate point of escalation.
  • Work collaboratively with Stakeholders, internal, technology team and vendors to plan design and deploy infrastructure services
  • Review internal technical teams and service providers’ deliverables for compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Communicate risks, and issues ensuring that there are appropriate mitigations in place Work collaboratively with all parts of the IT organisation, to ensure effective identification and evaluation of business needs to meet Infrastructure requirements
  • Work with external service providers to ensure they are fully apprised of company Infrastructure requirements
  • Anticipate, shape and provide education, training, assistance and guidance to stakeholders when needed
  • Provide leadership responsibilities to all team members. Lead and direct service providers and vendors.
  • Set and maintain high standards of performance for self and others
  • Take responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks as required
  • Maintain awareness of current industry trends and Engineering best practices
  • Participate at relevant conferences, industry events, forums and associations
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Equal Employment Opportunity and Workplace Health &Safety requirements and keeping the workplace safe and hazard free at all times
  • Other reasonable duties as required
  • Responsible for ensuring company is promoted in a positive manner at every opportunity.
Job Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business systems, IT or a related discipline
  • 5-10 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer
  • Deep cloud skills within AWS / Azure / 365
  • Background within Wintel / VMware / Storage / load balancers / firewalls
  • Proven vendor engagement experience
  • Proven ITIL skills and implementation of Service Management processes
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and vendor management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cope well under pressure
  • Proven research and analytical skills
  • Commitment to outstanding client services
  • Results focused
  • Commitment and demonstration to company values and behaviour in all tasks and interactions
  • Ability to work outside of business hours when necessary.
